Elephants in the Fog

An award-winning thriller set in a remote Nepalese village surrounded by dense lush forests and inhabited by wild elephants.

In this striking debut from Abinash Bikram Shahthat, Pirati is the matriarch of a Kinnar (third gender) community, held together by strict vows and strong connections. When one of her daughters unexpectedly goes missing in the forest, she must choose between her heart and dreams of a different life, and her responsibility to protect and defend her community.

“Sensitive, stirring debut is set at the heart of Nepal’s transgender community” — Namrata Joshi, Screen Daily
