Last Movies
Last Movies is a unique analysis of film history by Stanley Schtinter, which remaps the century of cinema according to the final films watched by some of its cultural icons.
Utilising collage and anecdote to compile a darkly comic essay on art and mortality, the film probes and pontificates on the final film experiences from Franz Kafka with Charlie Chaplin’s The Kid to Kurt Cobain and Jane Campion’s The Piano. There are many fascinating coincidences and compelling digressions along the way.
Featuring narration by Jeremy Irons.
“Last Movies is an oddball guided tour through a filmic graveyard, where movie posters are the headstones. It carries an intoxicating, inescapable fascination that is the mark of a great documentary. " — Cain Noble-Davies, Film Ink
